History of the Pink Glove Dance

Adult Day ServicesThe first Pink Glove Dance video debuted on YouTube® in 2009, featuring 200 hospital workers wearing pink gloves and dancing in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention. Today, the original video has almost 14 million views! This social media phenomenon inspired a national Pink Glove Dance video contest hosted by Medline, the maker of those famous pink gloves. Last year, the competition attracted 275 video entries featuring over 80,000 dancers!

Beyond bringing a message of breast cancer awareness and prevention to the national spotlight, Medline donated a whopping $17,000 to breast cancer charities on behalf of the top three winning videos in 2012!  The company also donates a portion of each sale of its pink gloves to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help fund mammograms for underserved women.

Agnesian HealthCare is so proud to partner with the Fond du Lac Family YMCA to submit its second annual Pink Glove Dance video to the Pink Glove Dance competition. Last year, our video ranked in the top ten percent nationwide! This year’s Pink Glove Dance contest comes with the opportunity to win $25,000 for the American Cancer Society! Stay tuned to learn more about why your vote counts. Also, a little bird told us that there may be a sneak preview of our 2013 Pink Glove Dance video in the works for early October!
