We cannot thank our supporters enough! More than 500 dancers, 1,000 pink gloves, and two weeks of voting later… the results are in. The Agnesian HealthCare and Fond du Lac Family YMCA 2013 Pink Glove Dance video ranked 18th nationwide!
Nationwide! We like to think our small community in rural Wisconsin has made the cheeseheads proud! The key to our success – one big heart! We are overwhelmed by the 7,535 votes cast in honor of local cancer survivor Keri Sabel, her story and the community that gathered around her to show their support.
To all of you that devoted your time to vote once per day, thank you! To all of you who encouraged someone you love to get that lifesaving mammogram, thank you! To all of our inspiring survivors, thank you!
Another special “thank you” is owed to those who participated in our Pink Glove Dance fund-raisers. The pig roast at the Fond du Lac Family Relay for Life raised $1,088 for the local American Cancer Society. The pink popcorn fund-raiser at Agnesian HealthCare and “pink hands” fund-raiser at the Fond du Lac Family YMCA raised $1,143 for the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation’s Women’s Health Fund. Wow is all we can say!
Although cancer has touched all of us in ways that aren’t always welcome, the Pink Glove Dance was meant to remind us that there is always hope. We can’t say it better than Keri herself: “You can easily take the road of negativity, but why? Laugh! Dance! You have the power to make it a positive.”
We are rejuvenated by the wonderful things that can happen when a community joins together for a great cause. Again, thank you for your continued support of the Pink Glove Dance movement.
